Tools from the Imagery Toolbox to Help Clients Mobilize Their Inner Strength.
Chronic illness, life-threatening conditions, or major life crises can significantly disrupt a client’s well-being and inner balance across personal, social, and spiritual dimensions. These challenges are a natural part of life, yet they profoundly affect one’s inner world. To enhance well-being, strengthen resilience, and guide clients in coping with treatments and crises, imagery offers powerful possibilities. The imagination is the domain par excellence where clients can access their inner resources to foster empowerment and resilience—an innate, self-strengthening capacity.
The Imagery Toolbox, developed by the Amsterdam School for Imagery, provides a practical set of easy-to-use exercises and creative materials to guide and support clients in strengthening their coping mechanisms. This workshop introduces a range of simple, imagery-based techniques designed to help professionals guide their clients in using their imagination for enhanced coping and resilience during illness, crisis, and recovery.
Throughout the workshop, we will explore the healing principles of imagery, focusing on how it can mobilize inner strength. Real client experiences and examples of expressive (art)work will illustrate its potential. Participants will practice essential tools from the Imagery Toolbox, learning how to effectively guide and support clients in applying these methods.
After the workshop, professionals are encouraged to integrate these tools into their practice. A follow-up session on April 12 will offer the opportunity to share experiences, discuss challenges, and receive supervision.
Designed for professionals in coaching, counseling, and therapy.
